An altered book is an artform that takes an old printed book and “alters” it so it looks like a work of art based on the artist’s personal version. Most altered books tend to be pretty somber, in my humble opinion, and artwork is one of the few places I like to play with color. My home is mostly just black, white and gray. It makes for a new balance.
My book here is a Chinese language text book that I altered using rubber stamps, paint, ribbons, fringe, glitter and my own poetry.
